23rd October 2022

After winning the first of the day’s two races at Snetterton, Chris Smiley started race two with an eight-point advantage over the only other driver in contention for the title, Isaac Smith. Try as he might, Smith did all he could in race two but lost out to Smiley who brought his Restart Racing Honda Civic Type R FK7 TCR across the line in third place and in doing so, secured the 2022 TCR UK Championship title.

29th August 2022

Qualifying saw Shepherd break the TCR UK record for fastest average speed and Chris was not far behind in second place showing what a good lap he put in.

The first race of the day gave us a podium finish as Chris was battling with a steering issue on the car, he drove well and kept good defensive lines and fully deserved to pick up the 3rd place finish.

We were hoping for the same again or better in the second race however, an incident at the first corner meant a retirement with a broken rear suspension.

We leave Donington as joint championship leaders and prepare ourselves for Snetterton on 23rd October

6th August 2022

Another excellent qualifying session with Chris taking pole and picking up more vital championship points.

The first race of the day proved to be eventful as a clutch issue saw Chris stall on the grid and drop to the back of the field, an amazing drive saw him rip through the field and eventually finished in 5th place.

Changing the clutch meant a pit lane start for the second race of the day and once again Chris drove exceptionally well and ended up with a 4th place finish after penalties were handed out.

Chris picked up the driver of the day award and well deserved it was too.

With only two weekends left we leave Castle Combe leading the championship after dropped scores.

16th July 2022

We had an absolute scorcher for the return to Oulton Park with temperatures soaring across the country.  A 4th place finish in the first race of the day with a fastest lap of 1.28.478. 

The second race of the day was also a 4th place finish with a fastest lap of 1.28.746 as we picked up points in the championship for qualifying and both races. An excellent drive from Chris and great work from the team.

Castle Combe is up next for rounds 10 and 11.

18th & 19th June 2022

We had three races at Brands Hatch Indy over Saturday and Sunday with Saturday being the best day for the team and picking up a 2nd place. Sunday was eventful on and off the track as the team worked hard to fix a mechanical failure which saw Chris retire early from the first race of the day.

Onwards we go and the next round is back at Oulton Park.

28th & 29th May 2022

A new livery was on show for Donington Park, we had a chance to work on the car and spend some time organising a few things after the hectic start to the season last month. Chris once again was excellent putting the FK7 on pole for the second time. The racing was frantic and an excellent drive in Round 4 saw Chris come from 14th to 2nd after a heroic effort from the team to prepare the car after the incident in Round 3.

This weekend at Oulton Park will go down in history for Restart Racing with pole position from qualifying followed up with a race win. The team had the car for less than a week and Chris Smiley only had a few laps in Honda FK7.
