Restart Racing Confirms Max Edmundson as Development Driver for 2026

Published on April 22, 2026

Restart Racing is pleased to confirm that Max Edmundson will continue with the team as Development Driver for the 2026 season.

Edmundson remains an important part of the Restart Racing programme, continuing to build his experience within the BTCC environment while developing his own racing career alongside the team.

Following a standout 2025 campaign in the MINI CHALLENGE, Edmundson secured multiple race victories on his way to finishing as Vice Champion, whilst also claiming the Rookie Championship in an impressive debut season.

Max is taking part in his second season of Mini Challenge which is on the BTCC support package.

He has carried that momentum into 2026, making a strong start to the season at Donington Park, where he secured two podium finishes.

As Development Driver, Edmundson will continue to work closely with the team across race weekends, contributing to driver support, simulator work and broader team activity, while gaining experience within the BTCC paddock.

Pete Jones, Team Principal of Restart Racing, said:

“Max has continued to develop exactly how we would want. Last season showed what he is capable of, and to start this year with two podiums at Donington is a strong statement. He’s a good fit for the team, works hard behind the scenes and makes the most of every opportunity. Keeping him with us as Development Driver was an easy decision, and we’re looking forward to seeing how he progresses across the season.”

Max Edmundson added:

“I’m really pleased to be continuing with Restart Racing for 2026. Being part of the team and around the BTCC environment has been a huge benefit for me. Last season gave me a lot of confidence, and to come away as Vice Champion and Rookie Champion was a great result. Starting this year with a couple of podiums at Donington puts me in a really good place going forward.

“I’m looking forward to continuing to learn, develop and contribute to the team wherever I can throughout the season.”

Max had a strong opening weekend to his Mini Challenge campaign, picking up a podium in race 3.

Restart Racing continues to strengthen its driver development pathway alongside its on-track ambitions, working closely with its partners to support emerging talent as the team builds on its recent success heading into the 2026 campaign.
