Quotes from the tenth and final qualifying session of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season.
Chris Smiley: “So that’s qualifying over and done at Brands Hatch. I’m a little bit frustrated with that one, as the car was definitely better than where we ended up. Unfortunately, on my best lap at the end, one of the other cars went off in front of me, dragged a load of rubbish onto the track, and the yellow flags came out, so it wasn’t really possible to go any quicker on that run.
We’ll be starting 14th as the top Independent, which isn’t a bad place to be, but I really feel we should have been inside the top ten today. The car has felt good all day, so I’m looking forward to race one in the morning; it should make for a really interesting day.”

Dan Lloyd: “So that’s a round-up from today. It’s been a difficult one, to be honest. We didn’t get off to the best start with a bit of an issue with the car in FP1, thought we’d found it, but it was still there in FP2. We made some changes for qualifying and found something, but the car was just way too loose, which was not what we expected.
I couldn’t really capitalise on the new tyres, and we’ve ended up 15h, which isn’t great, but I’m actually happy with how I drove. We just haven’t had much luck today, that’s all. It’s really close between all the Independent drivers, so we’ll stay positive and get stuck in tomorrow.”
