Round 3 – snetterton 300: qualifying

Published on May 24, 2025

Quotes from the third qualifying session of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season.

Dan Lloyd: “Yeah, really positive day, best qualifying of the season so far and we were very nearly into Q3, so I’m really happy.

We went well in the wet this morning too, which was great to see, and we’re in a good position for tomorrow.

There was definitely more in the car. I made a mistake on the first lap which cost us a shot at Q3, which is a bit of a shame, but overall we’re still in a really strong spot.

Massive credit to the team, we were just making small tweaks to the setup today, which shows how far we’ve come. Everything’s starting to come together now.”

Chris Smiley: “Yeah, pretty good day. The session this morning was really wet, then dried up halfway through, so we mainly scrubbed some tyres, not much to take from it.

In FP2, we were P2 and worked on the balance of the car ahead of qualifying. Q1 went well, second in the group and looking like we could’ve made it to Q3.

But in Q2, a parton rear subframe broke on the car and that cost us the chance of progressing.

Still, we’ve got a fast car for tomorrow and something we can race with”

Chris made good progress all day, however, due to a subframe problem he finished P12 in Q2. Photgraph: JEP
