Quotes from the fifth qualifying session of the 2025 Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship season.
Chris Smiley: “Yeah, a great day here at Oulton Park. In FP1 this morning, we scrubbed all our tyres and made sure everything was in the right window. We also did a lot of running on the hard tyre, and the car felt really good.
In FP2, the car felt really strong on the soft tyre, we were the quickest car in the session. It was a really positive step forward from FP1.
Qualifying went really well. We were the quickest car in Q1, quickest again in Q2, and in Q3 we’ve ended up on the front row, starting 2nd for race one tomorrow morning.
I’m really, really pleased to be starting on the front row. It’s been a mega effort from me and the whole team, and I’m really looking forward to the three races tomorrow. I think we’ve got a real opportunity to come away with some very strong results.”

Dan Lloyd: “It was a really good Saturday up to qualifying. We were properly quick and got the cars into the best place we’ve had them all season. We were 2nd in Q1 and looking really strong, with plenty more left in the tank heading into Q2 and Q3.
Unfortunately, we had a part failure on the exhaust, which caused it to hang slightly low. That meant we failed the ride height check. It didn’t give us any advantage at all, it was just a mechanical failure, but it meant we were thrown out and disqualified from qualifying.
Absolutely gutted, as that would have definitely been our best qualifying of the year. So yeah, it’s going to be a long day tomorrow.”
